it's the hours in one Earth day, it's the series starring Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer!), it's the song by Switchfoot..

it's also happened to be something that is a little closer to the heart; my comrade in ministry, kai-mui, the ever pleasant collegue, my friend - Vina turned 24 on the 7th..

so, we thought we would come together to celebrate her during young adults cell (which is on the eve of her bday). We got the present early. The cake was ready, the plan was laid down in full. Went to YA a little earlier than usual..

then, all of a sudden, there was this one moment where we thought she wasn't going to make it..(oh man! & here we were so psyched up in surprising her)..we prayed in our hearts.

A little later..she texted - she's on her way! YES!!

the evening progress as usual..but not that usual. really felt that the sharing that day was NO coincidence..I'm thankful for the ppl that are the closest to my heart..

And that night in each others' presence we were again reminded of God's sovereign control,His sovereign grace & His sovereign love...of not giving up..of carrying on..of finishing the race well...

yeah, it was no coincidence..

anyways, we reach the part of the surprise.Brought the cake & present out. Sang her a loud happy birthday song & still fully psyched about it.

she blows her candles, cut her cake...and unwraps her present..she shrieks in glee, she says thank you, she's happy...

and then came that moment where we will always remember as a 'Vina-moment'

so, to my dear vina...a tribute to you..who not only managed to touch our hearts on her birthday, but left us with an unforgetable moment..

btw, thanks to technology..it is forever recorded in the moment

just realized we questioned non-stop la...how you feel? are you surprised? do you like it? are you happy?...haha! looked like we were indeed more excited than her.
